I know that Miriam and her team’s ultimate goal is to get each child to the point where they are thriving independently!

We heal the child, not the symptoms.
At The Thrive Group, we treat childhood behavioral challenges using a holistic, interdisciplinary approach that considers the whole child within the context of their physical, emotional, and familial dynamic, helping them become calmer, happier, more adaptable and more focused.
Working closely with parents, educators, and caregivers, we develop a personalized therapeutic plan for each child based on their unique challenges, personalities, and needs. Problem-solvers at heart, our unique approach combines traditional occupational therapy with a creative blend of proven techniques to help children work through negative behavior patterns, leading not only to a healthier child, but to a more positive parent-child relationship and more harmony in the home.
Through playful sessions in our unique sensory gyms, goal-driven treatment plans, practical techniques, and continuous caregiver support, our mission is to provide a safe haven where children can truly be themselves as they grow and thrive to their full potential.

In Our Clients’ Own Words…
Miriam, thank you soo much for today! It’s always wonderful but today was really extra helpful that I focused only on my parenting. I worked hard and made sure to stay focused. I checked my notes occasionally when I needed to. It went well! Thank you!
Hope you are enjoying your summer. We had Adam home for a few days this week. I want to thank you because the help you gave him/us made a world of a difference! He is doing extremely well. I’m so grateful to you! May G-d repay you!
Sam is doing very well too. He made salad alone (thanks to your advice) and is loving and thriving in the outdoors.Dear Miss Miriam,
Thank you so much for helping me this year. I really enjoy coming to you. You are nice, you are smart, you are caring and you got me out of school. Thank you for everything. I will miss you.
From NoahDear Miss Miriam,
Thank you for all your amazing help this past year, you were always so kind and understanding and you really ‘got’ Noah. You are so validating and made me feel so good about everything. I appreciate all the tools that you gave me and the skills that you taught me. I learnt so much from you about parenting and about how to ‘mother’ Noah in the way that ‘he’ needs even when it’s different from what I am used to. I have tremendous gratitude to you for everything. I will miss our weekly session. May G-d bless you to always be able to give to your patients and to your family and may you always merit to know just what each child needs (as you already do!) Thank you, Lisa and NickThank you so much for all your effort and dedication to Susan’s success. I am so thankful to have you on Susan’s “team” and for your uniquely positive, thoughtful and gentle approach. While our journey together may not be over, I am so thankful for all the progress thus far. Hope you have an amazing summer, I am sure we will be in touch. Annie and Josh Berman
Mrs Manelaâs presentations have had the mark of delivering knowledge and knowhow with the message of positive thinking and trust in the continual growth potential inherent in human beings. Her approach- rational, scientific, yet very humanistic and optimistic- resonates with professionals and parents alike. It is common to hear, in the remarks of the audience, how her approach has made them more positive about their work with children and families, or parents commenting how helpful her ideas are in promoting an attitude of cooperation, lessening resistance, and enhancing the chances for positive change.
The professionals from my organization who accompanied me to her presentations were eager to try out her idea and later commented how her work and approach help them in trying harder, bring about a change in attitude, and getting better outcomes and cooperation in dealing with difficult problems in their work with resistant children and parents.
In a different workshop on helping parents toward growth-promoting parenting for hundreds of mental health professionals that I attended in my role as director of psychological services for my organization, the presenter, Irit Felsen, PhD, encouraged the participants to read Miriam Manelaâs book, The Parent-Child Dance as a wonderful resource inMiriam, there are no words! Our personal messenger from Heaven! Your care, professionalism and everything you taught us will stay with us forever. may you merit to always help people the way you helped us.
I just wanted to tell you how much I am appreciating Bloom. It gives me so much understanding, in such a clear pleasant way. Thank you!
Thanks tons! Your sessions are making a major difference! Andrew is appreciating it a lot too!
Dear Miriam, THANK YOU!! It’s just two words, yet means so much, for all you do, your special touch. It’s just two words, we hope it will suffice, for your amazing work, guidance and advice! It’s just two words to express our gratefulness, May G-d repay you with health and happiness! Family Furst.
How We Work
Consultation
After you fill out a few forms with information about your child, we schedule an initial meeting to deconstruct your child’s symptoms and try to understand the underlying issues that may be causing them. We also discuss any specific needs and concerns you may have regarding treatment.
Evaluation
Following the parent consultation, we schedule a child evaluation, where we interact with your child and perform tests to better understand the challenges discussed at the parent consultation. This allows us to establish a baseline so we can determine the best treatment plan for your child.
Brainstorming
Our team combines their expertise and works collaboratively to brainstorm and develop a personalized course of treatment. We create targeted short-term and long-term goals aimed at helping your child develop, mature, and acquire practical skills he can use at home and in school.
Action
We put your child’s plan into action with the help of innovative therapeutic techniques, therapeutic games, and focused sessions in our fully-equipped sensory gym. Through continuous communication with caregivers, we constantly re-evaluate and adapt to ensure the highest chances of success.
