In Our Clients’ Own Words…
Dear Miriam, thank you so so much for being someone to talk to, and also for being someone whose company I enjoy, and who I feel enjoys mine. I'm going to miss seeing you in person but we'll keep our calls up, even while I am abroad. AN
As I tucked my kids in today I was so grateful thinking what a difference your help and guidance made. We all enjoy the boys as they are adorable and well behaved. G-d should repay u! Be well! SN
I want you to know that I am so grateful for the guidance that you are giving me. In the short time that we have been meeting and the little steps that I’ve taken based on your recommendations I feel a difference in myself and I see a difference in my child. I feel empowered and focused! My daughter is overall so much more content, responsive, helpful and pleasant. Just today we were going out on a family trip and my daughter refused to go. I did the kishke method with her, giving her 2 choices of what she can do when we get to the place. She still was reluctant to join. I held my ground and told her she had to join… and had 2 choices she could choose from. After a few minutes she agreed to join. As we were getting into the car to go home my daughter turned to me, gave me a big hug and said “Mommy thank you so much for taking me here today I had such a good time!”
Thank you so much for your guidance and I look forward to continuing working together! RGWith the use of Tomatis and OT sessions with Miriam, Rina has made a 180 degree turn.
She can now cook and bake, following simple recipes and clean up at the end too.
She needs to be taught everything but whatever she is taught, she carries out beautifully and takes responsibility for it.
Rina has successfully gone on her own to visit her Grandma, to the bank, grocery and other errands.
She walks with more grace now and no longer stomps around the house.
She is less sensitive to touch
She can ask questions and converse with others. She talks with her friends on the phone for 30-45 mins.
She no longer says one thing and does the opposite.
She is doing beautifully at her job, she is on time and wants to please her bosses.
Although she can get insulted easily, she now stays within the situation and can respond within a few minutes.
The school she works at has stated that Rina is just like anyone else working at their position this year. This is not the way she was at the beginning of tomatis. My daughter took full responsibility to do the Tomatis program on her own, which is unusual.
This means she must have found it beneficial and enjoyed it.
She did give us resistance between each round but ultimately she did it completely on her own without any cueing which is pretty amazing.
She has been in therapy since she was a baby, but within this one year that she has had OT sessions by Miriam, coupled with the Tomatis program, we have seen such a dynamic change. JLBefore Tomatis, Georgia was not tuned in to her surroundings at all. Since she has done Tomatis, she has gained so much more understanding and awareness. She is able to hold longer conversations and ask relevant questions.
The Tomatis program has made a significant difference in my child’s life. He is more calm, more focused, and has an increased attention span. Before completing the Tomatis program my child was medicated for hyperactivity. He is no longer on any medicine and is able to control his behavior and impulsiveness. He enjoys the sessions and they seem to have a calming effect on him that continues after completion. The benefits build with each session. Julie Gold
Tomatis by Miriam Frankel has changed my life. It helped me reach goals that I have tried to reach for years, through working with traditional behavioral/trauma therapists. I highly recommend Tomatis with Miriam if you want to reach goals and get better. I am forever grateful for all the gifts I received through Tomatis. JD
This morning, Jordan got dressed on his own, I only put on his socks. In my brain, I said I can help you calm down your body but not dress you. I did tapping and thanks to your guidance, I only felt minimal anger towards not dressing him. GA
In a workshop on helping parents toward growth-promoting parenting for hundreds of mental health professionals that I attended in my role as director of psychological services for my organization, the presenter, Irit Felsen, PhD, encouraged the participants to read Miriam Manela’s book, The Parent-Child Dance as a wonderful resource in their work with children and families.
How We Work
Consultation
After you fill out a few forms with information about your child, we schedule an initial meeting to deconstruct your child’s symptoms and try to understand the underlying issues that may be causing them. We also discuss any specific needs and concerns you may have regarding treatment.
Evaluation
Following the parent consultation, we schedule a child evaluation, where we interact with your child and perform tests to better understand the challenges discussed at the parent consultation. This allows us to establish a baseline so we can determine the best treatment plan for your child.
Brainstorming
Our team combines their expertise and works collaboratively to brainstorm and develop a personalized course of treatment. We create targeted short-term and long-term goals aimed at helping your child develop, mature, and acquire practical skills he can use at home and in school.
Action
We put your child’s plan into action with the help of innovative therapeutic techniques, therapeutic games, and focused sessions in our fully-equipped sensory gym. Through continuous communication with caregivers, we constantly re-evaluate and adapt to ensure the highest chances of success.
