Helping Children, Teens, and Women Thrive Through Occupational Therapy in Passaic, Lakewood, and Brooklyn
The Thrive Group’s expertise lies in their ability to understand what each child needs and combine their vast knowledge and training with genuine warmth, care, and patience. I know that Miriam and her team’s ultimate goal is to get each child to the point where they are thriving independently!

We heal the child, not the symptoms.
At The Thrive Group, we treat childhood behavioral challenges using a holistic, interdisciplinary approach that considers the whole child within the context of their physical, emotional, and familial dynamic, helping them become calmer, happier, more adaptable and more focused.
Working closely with parents, educators, and caregivers, we develop a personalized therapeutic plan for each child based on their unique challenges, personalities, and needs. Problem-solvers at heart, our unique approach combines traditional occupational therapy with a creative blend of proven techniques to help children work through negative behavior patterns, leading not only to a healthier child, but to a more positive parent-child relationship and more harmony in the home.
Through playful sessions in our unique sensory gyms, goal-driven treatment plans, practical techniques, and continuous caregiver support, our mission is to provide a safe haven where children can truly be themselves as they grow and thrive to their full potential.
Why The Thrive Group?
We consider the whole person.
While many practitioners take a specific, narrow approach—whether cognitive, medical or otherwise—we strive to get to the root of the problem, combining various techniques and modalities to create a holistic plan tailored to each individual that walks through our door.
We communicate about goals.
We know how difficult therapy can be, especially when it seems like you’re going in circles. We outline clearly defined short- and long-term objectives, reviewing and adjusting protocol when necessary, so you’ll never feel like progress is stagnant.
We invest in relationships.
No dysfunction exists in a vacuum. We consider the child’s social, emotional, and family dynamics, keeping open lines of communication with the child’s teacher, therapist, social worker, and/or psychiatrist when relevant to ensure a smooth process.
In Our Clients’ Own Words…
How We Work
Consultation
While many practitioners take a specific, narrow approach—whether cognitive, medical or otherwise—we strive to get to the root of the problem, combining various techniques and modalities to create a holistic plan tailored to each individual that walks through our door.
Evaluation
Following the parent consultation, we schedule a child evaluation, where we interact with your child and perform tests to better understand the challenges discussed at the parent consultation. This allows us to establish a baseline so we can determine the best treatment plan for your child.
Brainstorming
Our team combines their expertise and works collaboratively to brainstorm and develop a personalized course of treatment. We create targeted short-term and long-term goals aimed at helping your child develop, mature, and acquire practical skills he can use at home and in school.
Action
We put your child’s plan into action with the help of innovative therapeutic techniques, therapeutic games, and focused sessions in our fully-equipped sensory gym. Through continuous communication with caregivers, we constantly re-evaluate and adapt to ensure the highest chances of success.
