Chaya’s Background in OT
Chaya Hefter is a highly skilled occupational therapist with over 26 years of experience. She works at the Brooklyn, NY, Thrive Office, located at 1048 East Second Street. Chaya graduated cum laude from the State University of New York Health Science Center, formally known as Downstate University, in January of 1998.
She has been providing services to a wide variety of pediatric populations, including children with Down’s Syndrome, sensory processing disorders, PDD, microcephaly, ASD, torticollis, prematurity, developmental motor delay, ADHD, apraxia, and visual difficulties

She specializes in reflex integration, acupressure, and a wide variety of handling techniques. She has advanced training in visual therapy, auditory integration training, and optimal brain organization, among many other techniques.
She enjoys facilitating her clients’ progress and empowering them as they see positive changes, by constantly increasing her knowledge base. With a calm, intuitive style, she supports children and teens in overcoming behavioral issues and in developing self-regulation and sensory integration skills.
