Meet Raquel Bondar, MS, OTR, a warm and creative occupational therapist at the Thrive Group.
The summer months tend to trigger mixed emotions for parents.
While there are children who thrive on the lighter schedule, endless hours of outdoor fun and rejuvenate themselves for the upcoming school year, others tend to shrivel up and act out from the lack of structure and stability and regress on progress made the previous year.
Summer vacation is the ideal time to focus on challenges a child may have and/or to schedule an evaluation to determine what skills your child may need to develop in preparation for his/her upcoming grade level.
For your convenience, we are offering home therapy sessions this summer where a therapist will come to your home to work with your child on your own domain. There’s no need for you to block out multiple hours in your busy day for traveling and session time – you continue on with your daily routine and the therapist will come to you.
Being in the home has the added benefit of using home “equipment” that your child is familiar with and is part of their daily life. Additionally, the therapist can assist with interactions between the child and siblings/parents for an overall positive experience for the whole family.
